Five skincare changes to make in spring

Bye-bye winter, hello sunshine! The boots and scarves aren’t the only things we’re ditching this spring – revamp your skincare routine for a complexion that’s as bright and beautiful as the springtime sun.

  1. Ditch the nasties

Just as your diet gets a reboot in spring, so too should your skincare routine. While you’re increasing the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables you eat, seek out natural and organic skincare products that embrace that ethos. Blessed by Nature ambassador Anna Heinrich is proof that naturally beautiful skin begins with cutting out the nasties, so choose products that don’t contain any SLS, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours or parabens.

  1. Scrub the winter away

Winter can be particularly punishing to our faces, so as spring rolls around it’s time to scrub the winter blues away. Follow this gentle exfoliation routine to rid your skin of dead cells and blocked pores, and reveal a brighter, smoother complexion. Think of it as a spring clean for your face.

  1. Be sun smart

Sun protection should be part of your daily routine year round, but it’s even more important as we enter the warmer months. By using a tinted moisturiser that contains sun protection, you’re providing your skin with the shield it needs to embrace the warmer weather.

  1. Lighten up your moisturiser

In winter, we need the deep hydration of rich moisturising creams to ward off the drying effects of the cold, but when spring’s sunshine starts to brighten our days and lighten our wardrobe, it’s also time to look for a lighter moisturiser. Switch to a daily facial moisturiser with a gentle blend of botanicals, such as lavender, calendula and vitamin E, to lock in hydration and provide protection, without too much weight.

  1. Don’t forget your décolletage

It’s only natural that you’ll want to start flashing a little extra flesh as the weather warms up, so be sure to extend your cleansing, moisturising and protection routine right down your neck and across your chest. Treat your décolletage with the same care you give your face, for a youthful all-over look.
