We can all be part of the solution with easy steps. Here are five suggestions.
- Plant a tree!
Trees take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, decrease ozone, cut noise, house birds and animals, and look gorgeous. What’s not to like?
- Don’t waste water.
Water is a finite resource. Flush appropriately, don’t leave taps running, take shorter showers and, if possible, recycle grey water to your garden. It saves money and the planet.
- Ride a bike or walk.
Cutting your carbon footprint this way is good for the planet, your pocket, and your health. Walking or bike riding is so much nicer than driving too. Can you consider doing it a little more?
- Compost organic waste
If waste goes to landfill it can produce harmful greenhouse gases. But if you compost organic waste, it becomes lovely rich fertiliser. You can use it on that tree you planted to make it even stronger and more beautiful!
